What type of prepaid PINs and top-ups do you support?
Qualution support virtually all PIN types, including hard card, virtual cards, debit prepaid cards and non-PIN cards. Multiple tops-up options are supported, including most top-up vendors, interfaces with POS and POSA, our own web self-care web service and through our IVR. Our online MVNO extranet allows you to order PINs and cards, and interfaces with your card print vendor (hard cards).
|
Do you offer an order-to-cash-solution?
Yes. Qualution offers a complete solution to support the entire life cycle of your subscriber. With the combination of their own MVNO-specific Oracle based application suite, their extensive systems integration, and their full suite of web applications, combined with their optional managed services, Qualution offers arguably the most complete MVNO support system of anyone.
|
What IT resources do I need to implement your solution?
Qualution provides whatever you lack in the way of IT resources to complete a fully integrated and automated solution. Our end-to-end solution requires a data center with a server to host our application and databases, and a WAN for connection to the numerous interfaces.
For clients without a data center, Qualution uses a world-class server collocation facility and Network Operations Center with an award-winning network. You have the option of a shared environment with lower costs and increased redundancy or a dedicated standalone environment. In each, your data is protected in a safe, secure environment. You always have the option of bringing the data center in-house at any point in time.

What does it take to qualify for an MVNO?
Requirements to become an MVNO depend entirely on the underlying wireless carrier. Most carriers require a substantial number of activations or minimum number of monthly minutes to qualify. You'll need to research each wireless carrier's MNVO program not only to learn of their requirements, but to determine if their programs
accommodate your business model. Regardless of carrier requirements, Qualution has MVNO clients that are profitable with only a few thousand subscribers.
|
What options do I have for offering wireless prepaid?
Depending on the underlying wireless carrier, Qualution supports two prepaid platforms; one is a real-time call path/mid-call teardown solution, the other is a less expensive near-real-time solution. Once you decide on a wireless carrier offering real-time and near-real-time usage, Qualution supports virtually any and all prepaid models for PIN hard cards, non-PIN cards, eCards, and virtual cards, (in addition to postpaid and pay-as-you-go). Qualution supports wireless prepaid from end-to-end, including card printing and distribution, automated activation, deactivation, and card expiration, usage monitoring, burn rates such as 'x' number of equivalent minutes for roaming,
international calls, internet/web usage, downloads, directory assistance, text messages, or similar non-standard usage, low remaining minute warnings, real-time online card balance monitoring, and provides the underlying CRM and dealer care support applications.
There is more than one MVNO platform for prepaid. Qualution knows the strengths and weakness of each, and why you might choose one over another.

How is taxation handled?
Wireless providers and resellers have at least three alternatives on how to tax their customers: license
a third party taxation product, out-source taxation, or perform taxation internally. The problem faced by
billing systems that use third party taxation software is data from the third party tax engine is used
for tax filings and then passed back to the billing system where it is forwarded to Journals. After processing
adjustments, write-offs, and misc. charges (such as late fees) there is no longer a constant link of taxes
reported to the books, making it very difficult to survive an audit. Qualution developed their billing
and taxation architecture to minimize exposure and optimize compliance by:
-
Developing and integrating their tax engine within their billing engine, maintaining a constant
single source for taxation, including using the same data for processing sales/use tax returns
and the subsequent reporting to Journals.
-
Enable two-click invoice line item adjustments that reverse the actual taxes applied.
-
Tracking exempted accounts including exemption termination dates.
-
Incorporating an address validation program that assigns a ZIP+4.
-
Subscribing to third party geocode (tax jurisdiction) and tax tables which, based on the ZIP+4
maps to a geocode, which in turn maps to a tax jurisdiction.
-
Providing for the capture of a service address (in addition to a billing address and contact addresses)
for compliance with the Mobile Sourcing Act.
-
Use our internal aggregator for bundled services before calculating taxes.
-
Partnering with tax compliance services for easy filing of returns.
PREPAID TAXATION -- Since taxes vary depending on call type, such as intrastate, interstate, SMS and data, etc. how can you determine at POS what to charge for taxes? Qualution offers a unique solution for prepaid taxation that precisely taxes usage for the appropriate call type based on actual usage. It's the best way in the industry to address prepaid taxation on wireless.
